About Odin

Much can be said about Odin’s testing scores. He completed the 6 legs of his Master Hunter title in 9 tries while still age 2. He has only missed 2 points in any of his NAVHDA tests. He received a 110 out of 112 in his Natural Ability test (mostly due to user error by a first-time handler). After that he received top scores in his Utility Tests (204/204) twice and top score in the 2023 Invitational (200/200) before he was 4 years old. He is one of only a handful of Weimaraners to ever get a 200 in Invitational, and at the time of his test, he was the youngest Weimaraner to ever pass, all while being handled by a first-time handler.

These scores say a lot about his ability, but even more about his trainability.

What I prefer to talk about is his hunting abilities. He came to our home to be a hunter. And he hunts. A lot. He tracks running pheasants. He pulls geese out of frozen rivers. We’ve hunted quail in the deserts of New Mexico in 80 degree heat. We’ve hunted grouse in the Dakotas in -10 degree cold. We’ve climbed the tallest mountains in Colorado to find Ptarmigan. He can hunt anywhere for anything. That’s what we love most about Odin. And he is the sweetest boy in the home, of course!
